Meeting

There will be a Parents Association meeting in the school tomorrow night October 3rd at 9pm. All parents are welcome, especially new comers.

Social Night

The new committee of the Parents Association are organising a Social Night for parents to come together and share a meal in The Holy Grail on Friday 13th of October at 7:30.  Three course meal for 18 euro.

We are currently updating our website. As you can see we now have a Twitter feed on our homepage please like and follow our school Twitter account @StColmans_NS. Policies will be added to the website as they are updated.

The September Newsletter was sent home last Friday September 15th. If you did not receive it or have misplaced it you can now view newsletters on the school website by clicking on the ‘Our School’ tab.

Our new Junior Infants have settled into school well this year and are enjoying learning with Mrs. Meagher.

 

 

Some of our pupils recieved certificates and medals on September 7th for completing the Summer Reading Challenge in Bunclody Library. Well done to everyone that participated.

 

• Seven members were in attendance apologies from Joan Nolan.
• The Board thanked former Principal Frank Murphy for his hard work during his tenure in St. Colman’s and welcomed the Acting Principal Conor Mc Donald.
• Building update: Planning was granted in December 2016 with the condition to provide ‘parking space for staff  and sufficient set down area for cars during drop off and collection times.’ However the amount that the Dept. of Education will provide for the building of the two classrooms will not cover the cost of such a car park. The Board is continuing to work with our architects for the building of the two classroom extension.
• Parents Association were thanked for their hard work last year and the new committee were welcomed by the Board who look forward to working together with them this school year.
• It is hoped that the outdoor toilets in the school yard will be upgraded during the midterm break.
• Interactive Whiteboards and laptops within the school will begin to be replaced and upgraded during this school year.
